I'm back home now, trying desperately to adjust to my life that i left behind for 6 weeks. I'm trying to decide what to do with this blog i started; contemplating continuing with it, or just starting a new one.
i think i'll probably just start a new one, and keep this for future travels, which i have decided there deffinatley will be. Travel will be a part of my existense for the rest of my life. I know that probably sounds like i'm dreaming outside of reality, but after taking such a massive trip and realizing how easy it really was, there is no reason why more of this amazing-ness that is world travel cant take place. You just have to prioritize, it's as simple as that.
I'm really just rambling now, the only real point of this is to let people know that i am home and all is well, and to attempt to conclude this blog in some fashion. I doubt anybody is even reading this anyways. :)
Farewell, from carpedium 07, until the faithful sven and i grab the passport and globe trott once more.

the terminal
that movie is my life right now.
its sometime in the middle of the night here in london, at the place completely void of charm and comfort, otherwise known as heathrow airport. its quite a challenge to keep yourself awake all night with nothing to do! i didnt know untill now that international airports are allowed to close up shop. everything is closed, besides this internet point. a total gouger by the way. £2 per 20 minutes. one us dollar amounts to .36 pence...which means that this little blog in a lame attempt to keep my mind alive is costing me somewhere arounf $17 per hour. lovely.
my flight from athens was nice. really nice!! i reccomend brittish airways completely!!
it was only a 4 hour flight that left at 7 pm...much past the regulated dinner hour, but we got fed anyways. always a bonus in my book...and the seats were leather. and they played a good movie. (amazing grace...watch it!!) so all in all a nice experience. good thing i had that to remember, becuase this certainly isnt what id call a pleasant experience...and this blog is taking up the last of my quid...so then im stuck with the option of an incessant amount of journaling...which has already been happening...and i dont know how much more i can take of that racket.
perhaps its time for me to strike up a random conversation with the other 3 people camped out in terminal 1. why not...its 2 am...what the heck else are we gonna do?? or maybe they would rather play a game of cards?? poker with complete strangers in the middle of the night at the airport?? yes please.
well, unfortunately my rip off amount of time is up here. so...yeah, if you need me ill be sitting on the metal chair by the coke machine...

killing time...
i'm here at the hotel in athens, killing time before my cab ride to the airport. (hopefully i dont die...cab drivers are maniacs here...i could be witness to several pedestrians murders. lol)
hannah left this morning at 4 am for her flight to sicily...its wierd that we are actually parting ways and i am coming home. Not that i dont miss everybody!
the next day or so is going to be so long!!! i'm going to get really confortable crashing in airports. Ive gotten comfortable crashing everywhere else on this trip!! i suppose it was time that the airport got a turn. :)
Greece has been amazing, despite the heat and the state of emergency...its been one of my favorite stops. Yesterday (or the day before...i cant remember...) we went to the acropolis and all of the sites on that hill...and we also went to mars hill which was awesome. one of the perks of the trip for sure.
Going through all of those ruins was an odd experience. Because of the extreme heat, there really werent tourists there...very few anyways. at certain points hannah and i were the only people in the ruins. A very wierd feeling...it just felt so eerie to be wondering through those ancient temples with no one else around. Once you come down off of the acropolis, halfway down the hill you run into mars hill. The feeling of standing where paul preached to the greeks, literally in the shadow of the highest respected temples of their gods, was quite a feeling. A trip highlight for sure.
And mars hill was the one place i succeeded in taking a piece of rock from. I really wanted to nab a piece of the colloseum, but that wasnt happening...too many poeple, and i had a close enough brush with arrest at the reichstag. haha...
i also wanted to snag something from the acropolis...but once again, chose to return to the states without handcuffs on...
so mars hill was the place. (and the best choice...) so my one and inly suvenier of this trip is a piece of the marble from mars hill. :)
i suppose ill be seeing all of you in a couple of days!!! it will be good to be home again...mostly. :)
